Are you a writer who can’t stand the idea of going into another self-destructive, life-draining day at a soul-sucking job? Okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic. Or, is it? Whatever your purpose in finding work from home writing jobs is, I support and encourage you on your way!

Here’s a list to help you get started. Additionally, I’ve included several legitimate typing jobs from home for you too! Legitimate typing jobs can be a fruitful second job to supplement income while you build up your writing portfolio and/or blog.

Perhaps one of the most obvious of the work from home writing jobs is freelance writing. However, becoming a successful freelance writer isn’t as easy as writing great content. Because the field is incredibly competitive and demanding extraordinary to stand out above the rest.

Also, finding the writing gigs that pay well can be challenging and it requires a lot of research and motivation to make money as a freelance writer.

Freelance writers are independent contractors who work with clients in producing their content needs. Depending on what services you provide you may work under one of several different titles.

A ghostwriter’s content captures the voice of their client and is submitted and published under their client’s name. This is common practice in the world of internet blogging and marketing. So there is a high-demand for ghostwriters.

However, like with most jobs, it may take hard work and time before you can begin charging a more substantial wage.

Freelance bloggers blog for business rather than a hobby. Bloggers may own and operate one, or multiple blogs to generate their income. Monetization methods include affiliate marketing, running ads, and selling products and services.

A content writer is simply that; a writer of content. Content creation includes writing blog posts, magazine articles, white paper, eBooks, courses, and other pieces of text. 

A professional writer is someone who has been writing for profit for at least a couple of years (typically) while experiencing some success with their publications. 

In order to become successful at freelance writing, you’ll need to break away from writing for content mills. Because the pay is not that great and it isn’t worth all of your hard work and time.
