When you run your own small business, you are in total control. And friends, let me tell you…that’s one of the best feelings in the world. I remember the days when I was answering to “the man”. What is the best business for women to start?
Honestly, this can vary on what you’re skill sets and knowledge are in. There are so many great business ideas that were made for women owners! But, if I can give you just one tip, please take your time and really focus in on what is going to make you happy.
Grab a piece of paper, write out your strengths and your weaknesses and really brainstorm on what you see yourself doing over the next 10 years. That way, you’ll know your determination level, your dedication level and save yourself a ton of time (and potentially money) from starting out on a business that your heart wasn’t truly invested in.
If you’re looking for the best business for women to start, you need to know your passion. The truth is…there are THOUSANDS of businesses that women can start and run. THOUSANDS. But for that business to be a success and to be around for the next 5, 10 or even 20 years, you need to know your passions and your strengths first.
Give yourself a strong foundation before jumping in with both feet!
What businesses can be started with no money?
It’s no secret that I’m frugal. And honestly, I enjoy it. Being able to save our hard earned money to stretch it doing things that we love gives me a thrill. (Don’t judge, give it a try!) And even though I know that it takes investing money into a business to see growth, I also do believe that there are businesses that can be started with little to no money that can have huge dividends and profits every single month.
- Blogging
There’s no denying the opportunities that lie within the blogging world. If you’re willing to do the work and study hard, you can literally make thousands upon thousands of dollars every single month. (some bloggers even make $30,000 per month or more…I do!) If you’re serious about becoming a full-time blogger, here is some great information on how you can start your blogging journey with little to no upfront costs at all.
- Become a full-time ghostwriter
Did you know that others will pay you for your written words? And some pretty decent money can be made as well! While you might not get your name on the written works of art, you’ll get a steady paycheck and the happiness of running your own ghostwriting business from your own home office.
Or if you’ve always wanted to travel, you can take your ghostwriting small business with you on the road! Imagine being able to write your next article while sitting on the beach? Sounds like an amazing small business venture if you ask me!
What are the most successful small business ideas?
I’m going to be honest with you. There isn’t a “get rich quick” small business idea out there that hasn’t been uncovered before. The difference between your small business idea and the other person who might be trying out the same idea as you is that you are willing to put in the time, effort and patience.
Those three elements and virtues will set your small business apart from the others. Some of the most successful small business ideas that I’ve ever heard of were run by people who had heart, passion and a true understanding of the value of work.
And I can say that because I experience people questioning me and my small business on a daily basis. People still think that blogging is one of those “sit on the computer all day” and just publish content. Oh, friends…if only. What they don’t see behind all the smiles is the blood, sweat, and tears that I’ve put into this business.
Countless hours, ups and downs and more emotions than I care to admit. But guess what? I never faltered from knowing what my passion was. I love to create, I love to help others and I get pure joy from knowing that I can combine both to help others create their own small businesses as well.
That right there makes EVERYTHING else worth it. Period.

- Run errands for your neighbors
If you’re already planning on running to the store once or twice per week, why not pick up a few needs for your neighbors as well? Set up a couple of days where you’re going to be going shopping and make certain that everyone gets their orders in early. You can then deliver their items and collect their money, making it one of the easiest small business ideas, ever!
